Church Bylaws
ARTICLE ONE
NAME
Section 1. (a) The Name of this assembly shall be LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, INC..
ARTICLE TWO
PURPOSE
Section 1. (a) To establish a Biblical Church with a Sunday School, literature and education as well as any other department it may deem useful to propagate and practice the Full Gospel including the promotion of Doctrine of death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthian 15:1-4) and New Testament plan for salvation according to Acts 2:38 using the King James Version of the Holy Bible (KJV). We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the inspired Word of the Almighty God and His Word is infallible. The King James Version is the preferred and used translation of the Holy Scriptures at this assembly at this time.
(b) To promote the institution of marriage between a man and a woman only, as God intended because God made woman for man (Genesis 2:21-24 KJV). Therefore same sex marriage is considered unconstitutional according to the Holy Bible and these bylaws furthermore no MINISTER of LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH including the Pastor will conduct, support, officiate or anything of the like for same sex marriage/union ceremonies neither will any of the LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH facilities or assets be used for any same sex union ceremonies such as weddings, wedding rehearsals, receptions, or any such thing. LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH Ministers also reserve the right to or not to officiate any marriage ceremony period, outside of membership of LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH and all branches under LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH.
- Definition of a Man – Biological male sex human being naturally born with XY sex chromosomes, ability to produce sperm cells naturally intended to fertilize the egg of a woman, high levels of testosterone, and distinct male sex parts: penis, testicles, prostate and a chest that all form upon natural development.
- Definition of a Woman – Biological female sex human being naturally born with XX sex chromosomes, ovaries that produce egg cells naturally intended to receive sperm from a man, low testosterone levels, and distinct female sext parts: vagina, uterus, and breast (naturally intended to produce milk upon child rearing) that all form upon natural development.
(c) To empower, encourage, and motivate souls to transform/change their lives according to biblical standards of holy living.
ARTICLE THREE
RULES & REGULATIONS
(a) This church and all its property shall be used solely for RELIGIOUS, CHARITABLE OR EDUCATIONAL purposes and in the event of dissolution; all material and financial assets owned by this Church shall be assigned to a religious non-profit organization (of the same faith) which is recognized by the UNITED STATES TREASURY DEPARTMENT as having tax exempt status, or as the ruling of the Church at that time.
(b) Anyone who holds the office of a Deacon, must meet the requirements that is given in I Timothy 3:12 KJV. He also must be filled with the Holy Ghost and Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins according to Acts 2:38 KJV.
(c) All ministers, teachers, office holders, and anyone operating in any service or ministry must be filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence through glossolalia (speaking in tongues) as the Spirit of God gives utterance and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
(d) All rules, regulations, and established order is to be followed in entirety by all members of LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH as it is written in these bylaws as well as the LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH POLICY which is to be maintained and signed by the Pastor and at minimum two board members.
(e) LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH reserves the right to dismiss, remove, and/or restrict any person or persons from the facilities that are deemed in violation of rules, regulations, and established church order.
ARTICLE FOUR
MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. (a) Qualifications: Anyone who has earnestly and sincerely repented of their sins, been baptized in water by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and who faithfully supports the Church in regular attendance and with their tithes and offerings, shall be considered a member.
Section 2. (a) Disqualification: Anyone who does not meet the qualifications set down in Section 1, Paragraph (a) of Article four, is disqualified.
- Anyone who is a member of this assembly that becomes or is found guilty of sowing discord among The Body of Christ including this assembly. Any officer or member of this assembly shall forfeit all his rights at the time of disqualification.
- The Pastor reserves the right to disqualify or deny church membership to any person at his discretion.
ARTICLE FIVE
OFFICERS
Section 1. Pastor
- The Pastor shall be chosen and installed by the current Pastor unless the current Pastor is unable to choose due to death or incapability of reasoning due to medically diminished mental state that is legally proven in which the Pastor is unable to make his own decisions responsibly. In such cases the Assistant Pastor would assume the role of the Pastor and if there is no Assistant Pastor in place the Church Board is to choose a Pastor and the choice shall be endorsed by the assembly.
- The Pastor shall be the Spiritual overseer of the assembly and all of its activities. He shall act as supervisor of all committees. He shall be responsible for the arranging of all services for the Church. No person shall be permitted to speak, preach, teach, or operate in any way in the assembly unless it is in full accord with the Pastor.
- The Pastor shall be consulted in regard to all moral and material affairs of the assembly.
- He shall call for and preside over business and Church Board meetings.
- The Pastor shall remain in office until the Pastor and congregation jointly agree to a change.
- The Pastor shall have Executive Decision Making Power over Board and Assembly as deemed necessary by the Pastor giving full authority to the Pastor, however the Pastors Executive decisions can be challenged with the following protocol:
- Unanimous opposition from the board on the decision.
- Board then takes the matter to the body.
- Assembly votes in opposition to the decision of the Pastor by 2/3’s.
- Board then brings in outside council (3 Pastors/high ranking Ministers of the same faith) endorsed by both the Pastor and Board)
- Council meeting is to be held with outside counsel, the Pastor, and the assembly before final decision if the Pastor yet insists on his decision.
- Following the council meeting the Pastor and assembly is to pray and fast 3 days.
- After all has been completed the final decision of the Pastor is to be received given the decision does not violate the Word of God in the Holy Bible KJV.
Section 2. Assistant Pastor
- The Assistant Pastor shall be appointed by the Pastor.
- His duties shall be to assist the Pastor in any way the Pastor may desire.
- The Assistant Pastor, in case of death of the Pastor or his resignation, shall be in full power as the Pastor of this assembly.
Section 3. Church Board
- The Church Board shall be the same as trustees.
- The Trustees shall consist of at least five persons.
- The Trustees shall be chosen/appointed by the Pastor and as deemed necessary, endorsed by at least 2/3’s of the board and/or assembly by the nominee obtaining signatures of endorsement.
- Trustees shall serve in full faith not as to themselves but as representatives and on behalf of the entire assembly and shall have a fiduciary obligation to the church.
- The duty of the Trustee Board shall be to hold all property in Trust belonging to the assembly. To make all legal acquirements and transactions in good faith.
- Quorum – A majority of Trustees shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting of the Board; but if less than a majority of the Board are present at any meeting, a majority of the Trustees present may adjourn the meeting from time to time without further notice.
- The act of a majority of the Board of Trustees present at a meeting which a quorum is present shall be the act of the Board of Trustees, unless the act of a greater number is required by law or by these Bylaws.
Section 4. Secretary – Treasurer
- This assembly shall always have an appointed Secretary and Treasure who is of good repute and shall always keep accurate records of all funds and business transactions.
- The Secretary – Treasurer may be one or two persons and shall be chosen/appointed by the Pastor.
- The duties of the Secretary – Treasurer shall be to receive, care for, and disburse all funds of the assembly, and to keep accurate records of all such transactions.
- The duties of the Secretary – Treasurer shall be to take minutes and preserve records of all business meetings and proceedings, and all other records of the assembly. These records may be kept in a safety deposit box at a local bank.
- The books shall be open for inspection, for any legitimate reason, at any time.
- The Church may audit the books once a year. The report shall be read at the annual business meeting.
- The funds shall be placed in a local bank and all disbursements shall be made by check.
- The Pastor and Assistant Pastor may have the right to write checks as well as the Treasurer in case of absence, death or resignation of the Secretary – Treasurer and his/her assistant.
- The Secretary – Treasurer shall have an assistant who shall act as Secretary – Treasurer if anything should happen to the Secretary – Treasurer whose name appears on these papers.
Section 5. Dismissal of Officers
- Any Officer such as Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, or Secretary – Treasurer for example that loses interest in the assembly and fails to attend for a reasonable period of time shall be removed.
- The Pastor shall also remove officers at his discretion.
ARTICLE SIX
BUSINESS MEETINGS
Section 1. A business meeting shall be held annually at the assembly.
- A special meeting can be held at any time the Pastor and Church Board agree upon. The meeting date must be announced at three services, and a copy of the announcement shall be placed on the bulletin board of the assembly prior to the date of the meeting.
- Anyone participating in the business meeting must meet the qualifications set down in Section 1, Paragraph a, of Article Four. They must not be guilty of sowing discord as stated in Section 2, Paragraph b, of Article Four.
- The date of the annual business meeting shall be January 15 or as near as possible.
ARTICLE SEVEN
APPOINTMENTS AND VACANCIES
Section 1. Appointments
- Appointments shall be made by the Pastor and to whomever the Pastor has given authority to make an appointment.
Section 2. Vacancies
- In the event of a vacancy in office, the Pastor shall appoint a new officer if deemed necessary.
- In the event the Assembly is without a Pastor, no person shall be permitted to speak, preach, or teach unless it is in full accord with the Church Board.
ARTICLE EIGHT
PROPERTY
Section 1. Property
- The title of all property shall be in the name of the assembly, LIGHTHOUSE TEMPLE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH.
- All property shall be held in trust by duly elected trustees or their successors in office.
- Never at any time shall the property of this assembly be in the name of private individuals.
- All property shall be held in trust by the appointed trustees.
- All property owned, bought or sold in the name of the Church and any business transacted concerning this property, shall first meet the approval of the Pastor and/or Church Board.
ARTICLE NINE
AMENDMENTS
Section 1. All amendments shall be added to these by-laws only by the joint approval of the Pastor and Church Board before final approval. Other than this, they shall not be amended in any way.
